Miami Redhawk Westin Columbus REception - with donuts & Pizza

Catie and Jonathan had a great wedding ceremony and reception at the Westin Columbus and it was our pleasure to be their DJ since its one of our favorite venues.

Westin Columbus Wedding

First Dance Song:
"All Of Me" - John Legend

Father-Daughter Song:
"I Loved Her First" - Heartland

Step Father-Daughter Song:
"Isn't She Lovely" - Stevie Wonder

Groom-Mother Song:
"Wind Beneath My Wings" - Bette Midler

The ceremony was in the ballroom.  They had live musicians playing the ceremony music, while we supplied the lavalier microphones so their guests could hear the vows. It was of course a beautiful ceremony full of emotion. What struck me was that the bride and groom made their own vows, but that they were the same vows. It was a nice touch.

We had set up our decor lighting in the ballroom. The couple wanted an amber color for dinner, and then for the color to change for the dancing. Decor lighting makes an already beautiful ballroom look even better.

After the guests re-entered the ballroom and found their seats, the wedding party introductions were done to Crazy In Love and then Signed Sealed Delivered.

Then came the first highlight of the evening - Catie & Jonathan were introduced and went right into their first dance. “All Of Me” is such a classic first dance song, and I still personally love it.

We got a quick picture of the bride and groom with all the Miami alumni, and then just started the dance floor. The dance floor was full of course as the bride and groom did a great job of selecting the music. It was a great time on the dance floor.

I have to talk about the food, and to be sure the Westin’s dinners are top notch. (the salmon is my personal favorite) But this couple went above and beyond for their guests. They had a VERY cool donut wall instead of a wedding cake.

As you can see from the picture, The Buckeye Donut Wall had a cool sign that read “donut mind if I DO” which I thought was quite clever. They disappeared really fast!

Around 11PM a large order of Grandad’s Pizza was delivered. That also went really quickly. That helped sustain the crowd until midnight.

The last two songs of the night were “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen, followed by the guests singing "Friends In Low Places" to the bride and groom.

THANK YOU TO CATIE & JONATHAN
