THE classic Westin Columbus Wedding

So its not a big secret that the Westin Columbus is one of our favorite venues.  So when Susie & Steve contacted us about their reception we were thrilled when they choose us!

They had the classic Westin Wedding.  Buckeye Sounds LOVES to do these!

Westin Columbus Wedding

First Dance Song:
"Shut Up & Dance With Me" - Anchor & Bell

Father-Daughter Song:
"Your Song" - Elton John

Groom-Mother Song:
"Sittin On The Dock Of The Bay" - Otis Redding

The ceremony was in the ballroom.  They had live musicians playing the ceremony music, while we supplied the lavalier microphones so their guests could hear the vows. It was of course a beautiful ceremony full of emotion.

The guests then made their way foyer where we had cocktail hour music playing for them.  During this time, the ballroom was changed over, and we had to set up the rest of our system and the decor lighting around the room.

After the guests re-entered the ballroom and found their seats, the wedding party introductions were done with fun and flare to their delight.

Then came the highlight of the evening - Susie & Steve were introduced and went right into their first dance.  The couple picked a most a song that we are very familiar with, but a version that we hadn't heard before.  They picked a very duet version of "Shut Up & Dance With Me" by Anchor + Bell.  Very different and very nice.

Dinner music was also unique.  The bride wanted us to play Motown love songs.  So The Four Tops, The Temptations, Gladys Knight , and Marvin Gaye to name a few were enjoyed by the guests.  I loved this!

I just love it when the couples picks music that 'just clicks' with their family and friends.  Steve & Susie did this PERFECTLY.  The dance floor was crowded the entire night.  From Crocodile Rock, Party In The USA, Mmm Bop, Take Me Home Tonight, to the 90's throwbacks the crowd was really into dancing.  It was a great time on the dance floor.

The night ended with the crowd singing "Sweet Caroline" to the bride and groom.

Just perfect.

We just have to give a special note of thanks to the staff at the Westin.  Heather in the sales office and Alise the banquet manager.  They work with us to make a better day for our couples which makes our jobs SO much easier.  Sometimes we don't appreciate this until we don't have it at other venues.  And the food is really good at the Westin too.
